Ask your MP to end the rent debt crisis

It’s official: Rishi Sunak failed renters in the Spending Review.

The number of us receiving benefits has risen by 36% since February, and because of the way Local Housing Allowance is designed, half a million households don’t get enough to cover their rent in full.

That means using up savings, borrowing money or even cutting back on food and heating to avoid getting behind on rent and risking homelessness.

Yet presented with all this evidence, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak has decided to let the situation get worse, by allowing housing benefit to fall behind rising rents.

Will you ask your MP to urge the Chancellor to reconsider?
